Immediate translation into other languages
We are pleased to announce that an awesome feature has been added which allows almost instantaneous translation of the webpages on the Education For All website into other languages.Just click on one of the flags or select from the list the language you want to translate to at the top of the right navigation bar. The current webpage will be immediately translated and displayed in a new window. You can then continue to view other pages on the website in the new language without having to select the language again.
This remarkable feat is made possible by using an online translation service provided by Google. Software performs the translation based on a "statistical machine translation" approach. Since no human intervention is involved, the translation may not be perfect and may sometimes make glaring mistakes. However, despite this imperfection we believe this feature is useful for making the course materials on Education For All accessible to users who preferred to use another language to view the website.
While you are viewing a webpage in a non-English language you can, if necessary, view the original English text by hovering the mouse over any sentence. If you view materials which are in pdf format in the browser, the system will also attempt to translate the pdf document to the language you are using.
